Calvert County

If you need a warm place to spend a bit of time, the county recommends the community centers. Their locations and hours:

The Northeast Community Center

Open Sunday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m

The Mount Hope Community Center
100 Pushaw Station Road
Open Monday-Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

The Southern Community Center
20 Appeal Lane
Open Monday- Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center
130 Auto Drive
Prince Frederick
Open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The county government also wants people to know about the Safe Nights program, run by the Calvert Interfaith Council. It’s an overnight program for anyone who has no place to stay, but you need to prove you live in Calvert County and register by calling 443-486-8670 or e-mailing calvertsafenights@gmail.com.

Montgomery County

All county facilities, such as libraries and rec centers are available as warming centers during the day.

County officials urge anyone in need to call the crisis center at 240-777-4000.
