Situational Crisis

A life circumstance in which the person experiencing the difficulty is in a state of emotional or physical imbalance. This person is perceived by him/herself, his/her family, or the community as experiencing a situation requiring immediate and supportive attention. This includes but is not necessarily limited to homelessness, substance abuse, child abuse and neglect, financial need, sexual abuse, family conflict, domestic violence, pregnancy and responses to life events.

Emotional Disorders Disconnected From Service

The presence of physical, psychological, or behavioral symptoms that would likely benefit from psychiatric treatment. The person is unaware or unable to access treatment without assistance.

What is a crisis?

The term crisis means many different things to different people. Services for crisis can range from addressing the needs of the homeless, family conflicts, emotional difficulties, and suicide attempts to large scale disaster response. Here is a list of different categories of crisis that we can help with.

 

 

Psychiatric Emergency

The presence of one or more of the following that requires immediate attention by trained psychiatric personnel and provision of the least restrictive psychiatric services. It includes:

Critical Incident

A serious and traumatic incident that elicits strong emotional responses and places victims and helpers at risk for future emotional dysfunction.

Disaster

A natural or manmade catastrophe identified by the Red Cross.

Community Crisis Services strives to provide the best service it can for all types of crisis from counseling the caller to referring the caller to a service that can provide a greater range of services to suit the individuals needs.
