National Night Out 2008

Community Crisis Services, Inc. will be participating in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. CCSi will be in Laurel at the Granville Gude Lake House, 8300 Mulberry St., Laurel, MD from 6 pm - 9pm; and District Heights at the District Heights Elementary School, 2200 County Road, District Heights, MD 20747 from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. ASIST Re-scheduled

May 8, 2008 – 10:01 pm
The cancelled ASIST class has been rescheduled for June 6th & 7th, 2008. Class hours are 8:30am - 5:00 pm, both days. You must be able to attend both full days. If interested, please contact the Training Coordinator to register. The course is free for all current CCSi volunteers and staff.

PPD Hotline

In an agreement with the Kristen Brooks Hope Center, Community Crisis Services, Inc. is no longer answering the Post Partum Depression Warmline. The change is effective April 23, 2008.

ASIST Comes to CCSi

In conjunction with standards being set by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Community Crisis Services, Inc. is endeavoring to train all current and new telephone crisis counselors in the ASIST Model. The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) training is an evidence based intervention model developed by LivingWorks in the early 1980's. It continues to be considered a "best practice" in the field of suicide intervention. CCSi is fortunate to have three ASIST trainers on staff.
